What change would you like your blog to make in the world?

What change, big or small, would you like your blog to make in the world?

When I started my blog over 10 years ago, I did it because I was going through my divorce, and I seldom saw support or advice for divorced men on the Internet. The overwhelming majority of the blogs I saw at the time, and this is still true, or written by women dealing with her divorce. And they were saying things like “he’s a dog. He did this. He did that.” I never saw much that offered support or advice for men dealing with divorce. Hell, there wasn’t even much in the way of men venting about their divorce on the Internet. Even “be a man. Be strong. Shut up. Deal with it,” were completely absent.

From there, it started to evolve a little bit. I wasn’t offering legal advice or anything, just support. I wanted to let people know that I was another guy who had gone through divorce and experienced the pain of being away from my children. I was hoping to either start or become part of a network of people supporting men through divorce. Finally, I wanted to chronicle my journey back into bachelorhood.

I’m addition, as I have also dealt with anxiety at various times throughout my life I was hoping I could inform people through my own personal experiences with these mental health issues.

When it’s all said and done, I just want people to remember my blog is a place where other men could find support as they were going through divorce; or dealing with mental health issues. I have always hoped that I could start to create a net work, or become a net work/support group for divorced men and single fathers, to let other men know that they are not alone.
