Create an emergency preparedness plan.
I have to admit that I was avoiding this topic; which is really ironic, considering that I earned my “emergency preparedness“ merit badge as a Boy Scout. Furthermore, I experienced the Y2K craze and the very real threat of terrorism following the 9/11 attacks.
I don’t have “an emergency preparedness kit” but I like to think that I try to be prepared for things. If I was to prepare such a kit, these are some of the things I would include:
Some cash, a first aid kit, a Swiss Army, or some other kind of utility knife. Baby wipes, a change of underwear, a couple, granola bars, or something to eat. A flashlight, a mirror and a magnifying glass.
If I was to prepare an emergency preparedness kit…
I usually try to keep most of that stuff on hand anyway. Especially after having kids myself. The baby bag was such an amazing invention; one that I was having difficulty letting go of.
One thing I’m always sure to keep in my car is a small set of tools. It’s good to have on hand in case anything happens to the car.
Besides, as a man, if you’re ever able to come across anyone who is having minor car trouble and you’re able to help, that always looks badass…
