Bring on the heat!

Daily writing prompt
What is your favorite type of weather?

Its funny that I get this prompt today, especially considering that we got an unexpected snow storm in Michigan yesterday.

My favorite weather is heat. Give me a warm, sunny day any over any other weather – any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

The NBA franchise team gets it…
The movie understood the assignment
Hell, even the late Eddie Guerrero figured it out!

The diner scene with De Niro and Pacino is classic.

I’m pretty sure that’s the first (and to date the only?) time that they’ve ever been on screen together.

They were both in the Godfather, part two, but DeNiro was playing a younger version of Vito, so they didn’t have any scenes together

I occasionally watched that scene. It’s so good. The other scene they are shooting in the streets was great.

I still need to watch the entire godfather collection. I saw the original as a kid, but don’t remember it much. I didn’t see the others. I’m long overdue

I’m hearing that they’re going to make a heat 2 now. I’m not getting my hopes up for that one though. Sometimes I think they are just waiting too damn long to do these sequels.

I never actually saw the godfather until I was in college. Once I did, I was like “why did I wait to watch this?”

And yes, the Godfather part three is as bad as everybody says. Actually. I don’t know if it’s so bad as much as it is at the first two movies are so good. Check out the offer.

Once you watch those, or at least, the first one, you should watch “the offer” on Paramount+. It’s a mini series about Paramount adapting the Godfather for the big screen. It’s a pretty wild story actually!

The cast made Heat. I’m not sure how Heat 2 will be.

I head that about GF3. I’d probably still watch it to close the loop. The offer sounds interesting. Thanks for the recommendation

My only problem is now I want to read the original “the Godfather“ novel. 😝

Rob, I am a fellow warm weather lover. It “warms” my heart to read this post. Also, I love Pacino, and to a lesser extent De Niro. Both obviously geniuses and legends.

You know, I’m not a big fan of this movie. Granted, I only saw it once in college and it was late at night so I was falling asleep.

The crazy thing is I like Michael Mann, the Director. He’s done a bunch of other movies over the years and was one of the show runners on Miami Vice back in the day.

Loved Miami Vice. I’m more of Godfather fan. But only parts one and two. Anything after that is trash.

As I was telling MyGenXLife earlier, if you have Paramount+, you should check out the miniseries called “the offer” it’s the true story about Paramount adopting “the Godfather” for the big screen. If you’ve never heard the story-behind the story, it’s pretty wild!

Sounds cool! I don’t have Paramount+ but maybe one day I’ll be able to check it out!

Supposedly, the Death of Michael Corleone version of GF3 that came out a few years back is much improved from the original theatrical release. I have not seen it yet, so cannot comment.
Weather? I’m in the minority, but I am a cold weather fella. lol

I’ve heard that about the “death of Michael Corleone” version. I haven’t had a chance to see it yet. I may have to just bite the bullet and buy it.

Same. I’d like to check it out just to see. I think a big part of it is that, as you said, 1 and 2 are just so damn good. Hard acts to follow indeed.

Yes, you have to love the irony of this right after a snowstorm. The universe and WP both have warped senses of humor.
