My kids give me direction. The truth is, everything I do is for my kids. That being said, if there is something that either of my sons need, I will beg, borrow or steal in order to get it for them. Fortunately for me, it rarely comes to that.
Second – and a distant second at that – my sense of of right and wrong gives me directions. I will often say things like “ I did what I had to do in order for me to be able to lay my head down peacefully at night” like everybody, when it. When it comes to big decisions in my life, I tend to ask myself did I do enough? Whenever this question crossed my mind during my divorce, I told myself I did everything I could do, so that I could sleep peacefully at night. It’s true that at times in my life, I could choose to be louder, more intense or even unethical. But I have to act in a way that I am live witth.
