If I could do it for just one day, I would be a professional baseball player. I’ve said before that I think baseball is the greatest sport ever invented. But I cant imagine how fun it would be to be on the field for one day. I wouldn’t even care how good or how bad I played. Fans could cheer, boo me, or even heckle me. The experience alone would be worth it.
I get that it would not be all fun and games. I know that ball players have to show up at the stadium several hours before game time. But a job like baseball, where everything you is need provided to you; and all you need to do is take care of your body seems like a good day at the office.
There’s a famous quote by Joe DiMaggio where he was once asked why he played so hard in every play, particularly in the “meaningless” games. Dimaggio replied “Because there’s always some kid who may be seeing me for the first time. I owe him my best” (https://www.joedimaggio.com/the-legacy/quotes-from-joe/). I would like to think if I had a shred of talent, let alone being the biggest star i the game, that I would have an attitude like Joe DiMaggio’s.
