I’m sure I’m going to Hell for that title…
Today’s prompt is asking about my passions – the things I love, the things that get me out of bed every day. Here’s a brief description of three of them.
my kids
This one should go without saying, but yes, my kids are definitely one of my passions. What can I say? I love them. They keep me young. They are my legacy.
baseball
For my money, the greatest sports that’s ever been invented. But for me, it goes beyond just the entertainment value of the sport. For me, the game is synonymous with summertime. Baseball reminds me of my childhood. More than that, I think reminds me of my father. Kid 1 really isn’t into the game. However, I am encouraged that kid 2 and I
have already had some genuine bonding experiences going to different major league baseball stadiums. And we’re just getting started with our ballpark chase.
Star Trek
In many ways, this may be my all-time favorite Science Fiction franchise. Keep in mind, I grew up as a Star Wars fan. But as I got older, I discovered Star Trek. Once you really start watching Star Trek, you get to know a lot about the whole “future ideology” at the show projects. it would not be an exaggeration for me to say that the Star Trek franchise is probably done more to influence my political views than any politician in my lifetime.
Man, I gotta find a woman!
