A year ago, I responded to this prompt with the following blog post…
Today, baseball game still definitely get me excited. There are a few that I attended this year that got me just as riled up as this one did.
but as far as the last thing got me excited recently, I would have to say it would be my trip to Illinois to do a college tour with kid 1. It was a lot for me to process, with kid, one getting ready to go to college, and The next step in the evolution of my relationship with X1.
As proud as I was of Kid 1 – and I truly am – I think the thing that really stuck with me about that trip to Illinois was experiencing what my parents experienced almost 30 years ago as I was preparing to go to college. I always quote the Marlon Brando line from Superman “the son becomes the father and the father becomes the son”. This was one of those handful of moments in life where I truly lived that quote.
