About a year ago, we got the same prompt. At the time, I really wasn’t doing much running at all; Hence, the joke, title and last year’s response.
But now come in nearly one year later, I find that I have to update this response somewhat. For the last few months, I have been going back to the gym on a semi-regular basis. As part of my warm-up, I typically walk for anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes on the treadmill. However, during those 20 minutes, I started trying to spend at least five minutes Of that time running. I do take some sporadic breaks in my trips to the gym, I find the symptoms I have to start and stop, but at one point, I had myself up to running for 10 or 12 minutes and nonstop.
i’m not one of those people who believes it amount of cardio is to lose weight. But at the same time, I want to get my steps in for the day. And addition, I actually saw my endurance going up a little bit again as I started to run more.
My brother, who ran cross-country in high school and even in college. Today, his knees are pretty much shredded. Not to the same extent A person who plays catcher for a baseball team, but as I understand, his cartilage and his knees is pretty much gone, and he is no longer able to run today.
For posterity sake, I am embedding my original response to this prompt.
enjoy…
