because this is such a fun topic, I decided that I’m going to update my list of my favorite websites here. Just below this paragraph is an in bed from my response to this prompt around this time last year.
but here is my updated list of my favorite websites. I will try to keep it to 10.
WordPress – i’m sorry who is the host of this blog again?
Facebook – for the last few years, my students have told me “Facebook is for old people“. The thing is, I am old. Besides, Facebook has reached the point where it is almost like an appliance in your house. Have Facebook accounts the same way that they have a refrigerator or a microwave oven or a television in their home.
TikTok – I’m a little surprised. I didn’t mention this one last year, but I think at the time I was just starting to get myself immersed in the world of TikTok. I guess it’s not really a website as much as it is an app, but you get the idea. In any rate, I’m quite addicted to it; however, I don’t post nearly as many videos as I watch.
CNN – this is, and probably always will be, my most trusted source for news
mlb.com – the official website of major league baseball. My favorite sport, and in my opinion, the greatest sport ever invented.
Instagram – like TikTok mentioned above, I’ve been on Instagram for a while, but I still don’t think I’ve really got the full hang of it yet.
Google – my favorite search engine ever. Plus, goo is also the home of a lot of free software or “apps“ as people are more likely to call them today. I’m still thoroughly convinced that Google is just waiting to take over the world.
YouTube – YouTube is another one of the sites where I primarily use it for viewing other people stuff. I would like to get into posting my own YouTube videos, but it’s something I’ve never really put the time into.
Spotify – of all the websites listed here, this may be the one that I spend more time on than any other. Again, Spotify is more known as a global music app than it is for a traditional website, but it still exists. Spotify is also where I hosted podcast
Threads – maybe I’m cheating just by doing all these social media apps are supposed to proper websites. Spread the newest platform list. I’m still trying to get it, but it’s definitely my replacement for Twitter.
I wonder what it says about me that instead of listing traditional websites, most of these are apps. Are we reaching a point in time where apps are going to be our new websites?
