Without a doubt, my favorite place in my hometown, and quite possibly my favorite place on the face of the Earth is Comerica Park in beautiful downtown Detroit, Michigan.
I have gushed over and over again about the sport of baseball. If you’ve been reading my blog for any amount of time, you’ll see the ballpark reviews I’ve done from the few major league stadiums that I have visited – and some Minor League parks as well.
As I’ve lived my childhood and most of my adult life by the academic calendar, I have always equated summertime with freedom. In addition, summertime has always meant baseball. Baseball has always been something of an escape for me. Something about getting inside the four walls of the ballpark: the smells, the game the general fun spirit makes me forget about whatever else is going on in my life for a few hours.
Below, I have embedded my response to this prompt from last year, which probably sounds a lot like the post I just made.
In addition, I am also embedding my “Ballpark review” post of Comerica Park below as well. It goes into a little bit more detail about the stadium itself, including photographs I’ve taken over the last 25 seasons.
