Who are your current most favorite people?

I feel I’ve written about this topic so many times, but I never get sick of it. My two favorite people always have been and always will be my sons: Kid 1 and Kid 2. About a year ago, I wrote a post, on kid one, which I followed up with on kid two, which was a direct response to this prompt from last year.

With all this in mind, I always like to take this time as an opportunity to give updates on both kids as I feel like I don’t really write about them nearly as much as I should:

Kid 1 is about to enter the final semester of a senior year in high school. He started to go through some typical trials and tribulations at high school age kids face. Unfortunately, it seems like he’s going through all of it pretty much the exact same time. And I are planning, an impromptu trip to get him up here to see me for the Thanksgiving holiday. I think I’ll give me and him a chance to have a honest to goodness man to talk. This is something that I’ve known would ineffably take place. I just didn’t think that it was all going to happen it pretty much the same time.

Kid 2 is doing a very well himself. He’s in the fourth grade and recently I’ve seen him start taking the initiative to get up and do homework without being told to do so. He just got his first cell phone, so he’s extremely excited about that! And I are absolutely stunned at how quickly he seems to be grilling. I swear that every time I see him, he’s noticeably bigger. He spent the last few weekends with me, during which time he’s really taking to playing outdoors more and more, which I couldn’t be more happy about.
