I think we’re all a little guilty of this one, but one thing I could do less than my life is of avoiding things. Avoiding conflict. Avoiding confrontations. Avoiding being the bearer of bad news. For most of my life, I’ve been a people pleaser, to a fault.
They ever looked back on something that you wrote a year, or even a few years prior, and been impressed with it? I reread my response to this prompt from last year, and was pretty impressed by my work. I even did some research on the subject, and even linked to some other articles about it. I’ve embedded my original post from last year below. Check it out…
I’m gonna have some of my own real life issues with avoidance recently. As I mentioned previously, kid one has been making some very typical, very questionable teenage decisions. I’m just a little concerned because I want to be sure that he’s not jeopardizing his future and possibly going to college. He, X1 and I have all been kind of dancing around the issue recently. It sounds like he and X1 had a talk today. I’m going to be calling him shortly just to kind of set the record straight on some things, and to make some plans for the holidays.
