I wrote on this topic roughly one year ago today. I’m disappointed to say that I have not made it to any of these aforementioned destinations in the last 12 months. No new labels to slap on a suitcase. No new photo albums either on my phone or on social media. And absolutely no new stamps in my passport.
Travel has never really been my strong suit. Usually when I travel, it’s because I have something going on and I particular town that I have to attend. I’ve never really been wanting to just plan a trip and say “I’m going here because I want to“ with the exceptions of going to baseball games out of town.
The truth is, my family never traveled much while I was growing up. Maybe this is because we were a family five living in a cop salary. Maybe this is just because neither of my parents never really traveled a whole lot as kids themselves and there’s never a great deal of importance place up upon travel growing up. In fact, I would see of all the things that I need to work on with myself, of all the things I need to “reprogram” myself, this might be one of the most difficult. This is something I can try to work out in 2025. In the meanwhile, feel free to check out my list of “world tour stops” from last year in the embed below…
