With one notable exception, my 5 essential grocery list from this year is the same as last year’s. However, I am officially updating the list with some new commentary.
I’m also embedding my response to this prompt from last year, roughly halfway down the page, for your consideration.
1. Water – I hate to buy water, but for five years, I lived in an area where I didn’t have access to cotton water. At least, the city water tasted differently than what was used to for most of my life. So got into the habit of buying bottled water. This may sound a little snobby, but I’m at a point where I can’t even go back to drinking tapwater on a regular basis.
2. Lunch meat – I love sandwiches. I’m a bologna junkie but I’m trying to move into something slightly healthier so sliced chicken, roast beef and even ham, on occasion, are options.
3. Peanut butter – I’ve always liked peanut butter. I think that this one has become something of an unhealthy obsession at this point.
4. bread – I can’t make sandwiches without bread. Since this time last year, I have completely made the transition over to wheat bread. I’m at a point now, where the taste of regular white bread kind of grosses me out.
5. Chocolate Milk – like bologna, this was a childhood comfort food of mine that has come roaring back in the last few months. To make matters worse, both kid one and kid two like chocolate milk as well.
