How sad is it that i have to think about the last time i did something purely for fun?
I do a lot of random stuff for fun: watching TV, going to a movie, and Ben playing with Kid 2. But for something real well-planned, something that was pure unadulterated fun would be my trip to the Tigers-Reds game in Cincinnati this last July.
Even when I went to the Braves game in Atlanta this past April, I did that only because I was already in the area for Kid 1’s gymnastics meet. my trip to Cincy, however, was strictly for the game. I drove almost 5 hours round-trip and spent a lot of money for the game, the stadium tour, and the Hall of Fame visit – all for the fun of it.
Yes, it was something of a bonding experience for me and kid too, but there was nothing educational to be attained on this trip. I did it strictly to say that I attended a baseball game in Cincinnati’s Great American Ballpark. I wrote my own ballpark review of the stadium on the embed below…
