At the risk of tooting, my own horn, 2024 was the most successful, and most productive year for my blog yet!
Sometime around July 2023, I started responding to the “daily prompt“ on a regular basis. I started noticing a decent size group of regular readers who are viewing and sometimes even commenting on my posts. With that, I got encouraged to begin writing every day, even if it was just a response to the daily prompt. In some cases, I may have made two or even three blog posts.

I was able to keep that streak of consecutive days writing going through all of 2024. At one point, I even started a podcast adaptation of certain blog posts. I have 10 episodes of that available currently here. I must say that the podcast probably single-handedly brought more views to my pages and any daily prompt I had done. I know podcasts are still all the rage and continue to be. I may have to go back and start a “season two” of the show.
At the beginning of the year, I said a modest goal of 12,000 views for the entire year. Realistically, I was hoping to make it to 15,000. In the spring, it looked like I might very well make 20,000 for the year. However, traffic dropped off as I mentioned earlier as the weather got better. Around that same time, I stopped creating any new podcast episodes. Having said that, my numbers have picked up particularly in the last month. I was happy that I was ultimately able to pass 17,000 views for the year.

As you can see, my number started to gradually drop off as the weather got warmer. This also coincided with the end of “season one“ of my podcast. I am pleasantly surprised that my numbers have picked up again for December 2024, the best month I’ve had in the second half of the year. Part of that is because I have made a point to be sure that I’m posting twice each day, more often than not.
