As WordPress continues to recycle old prompts, I pulled another prompt from The Coffee Monsterz Co to respond to today
By sheer coincidence, this post serves as a companion piece – of sorts – to another post I’ve been working on for the last few days…
Does how you feel about your appearance affect how you act during the day?
Absolutely! I think when one feels good about their appearance, it affects their overall confidence. In my case, I don’t I even have to actually look good in order to feel more confident. For me, it’s usually enough to feel like I look good
When I’m at the gym, even if I’ve only been working out for a little bit, I feel like I’m more muscular. I stand a little bit taller. Most of all, I feel more confident.
I can see the same thing about having a new haircut or even wearing nicer clothing. Either of them make me feel like I look better and if I feel like I look better, then I become more confident.
I’m not saying all this to sound superficial or shallow. To be honest with you, I don’t think I’m either of those things. But the fact of the matter is, humans are stimulated by things that we find visually appealing. We tend to be attracted to things that we think look good. It may not be very evolved attitude, but it’s the way we’re made.
When someone is more confident, they carry themselves differently. This is not to say that one cannot be confident or carry themselves well if they’re not dressed well. It’s just to say that it does make a difference.
