The next 5 years

As WordPress continues to recycle old prompts, I pulled another prompt from The Coffee Monsterz Co to respond to today

What worries you about the next 5 years?

EVERYTHING worries me about the next 5 years.

Living here in America, I am greatly concerned at what the next three years and 10 months are going to be like with our current president. It’s only been two months since he took off, and it’s already an absolute train wreck. He’s defying, or attempting to defy the law, at every possible turn. As someone who’s heavily involved in politics, it’s tiresome.

I’m aware that, even if we still have an election in four years, the next president’s inauguration might be a very scary, very turbulent time. Whoever that next president will be, here or she will have their work cut out for them. The current administration has done a great job of Undoing decades, worth of foreign relations, and just a matter of two months.

As I’ve said elsewhere before, I’m worried about the world that my two boys will have to live in five years from now. I’m hoping for the best, but I’m trying to prepare myself for the absolute worst.

I know that five years can go by in the blink of an eye, but thinking that I’ll be 55 years old and five years just seems like it’s so far away.
