Expanding the Palate of a Picky Eater

As WordPress continues to recycle old prompts, I pulled another prompt from The Coffee Monsterz Co to respond to today

What is a foreign dish you would like to try?

Honestly, I got nothing for this one. Growing up I was “the picky eater” in a family of bland eaters.

I partially blame my eating tendencies on the limited number of dishes Mother prepares for us growing up. I think that’s what also lead to me become as much of a “creature of habit” that I am. Of course, I have always had a lot of trouble identifying smells. I think that has contributed as much to my picky eating tendencies as Mother’s s culinary skills, or lack thereof.

But right now, off the top of my head, I could not think of one foreign food that I want to try. It’s not that I’m “the ugly American“ or uncultured. For the life of me, I just can’t think of a single foreign dish that I want to try. I guess it would be something French maybe like a pastry or something involving cheese
