Of heat, sociopaths and narcissists

As WordPress continues to recycle old prompts, I pulled another prompt from The Coffee Monsterz Co to respond to today

What is something that drains your energy?

Not the basketball team

If you’re asking about one thing that physically, literally drains my energy, it’s the heat. I love the summer and I love summer days, but when the weather gets above 90°F for an extended period of time, the heat tends to be too much for me. After a few days of that kind of weather, I just shut down. I refuse to leave the house and I stay in. Having said that, if I had to choose between a hot summers day in a cold winter day, I would choose the summer any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Sociopaths and narcissists

I know I shouldn’t lump both sociopaths and narcissist together, but both personality disorders are mentally exhausting for me.

Personally, I cannot stand people who don’t think that rules apply to them. What makes one person so special that they’re above rules when everybody else has to abide by that? The answer to the question is an overinflated sense of self-worth which leads me back to narcissists.

I’ve dealt with more than my share of narcissists over the years. well they might be a little bit more ethical than sociopaths, and that they still care about the rule of law, narcissist think that the world revolves around them. Not only that common narcissist believe that they can do no wrong and anything that goes wrong is the other person‘s fault. To me, that level of behavior is just exhausting. Having the thing two, three, or even four steps ahead of a narcissist is draining. Maybe not physically but emotionally and psychologically so. Dealing with narcissists and sociopaths is the mental equivalent of spending too much time on a treadmill. Not only is it mentally exhausting, but you also find yourself never really getting anywhere with them.
