My favorite texters

As WordPress continues to recycle old prompts, I pulled another prompt from The Coffee Monsterz Co to respond to today

You just got a text and smiled as soon as you saw their name. Who is it?

This is an easy one:

My kids – Kid 1 and Kid 2. I think with Kid 1 being away at college, these texts will be fewer and further in between, so I’ll be happy for the ones that I get.
Veronica – what can I say? She makes me happy. Things are relatively uncomplicated with her. I don’t mean that in a negative way. It’s just that the drama is virtually nonexistent with her.

Meanwhile…

Today is the unofficial start of Labor Day weekend. My school is off today (4 day weekend for me). And for the first time in nearly 2 weeks, I have zero plans. I was supposed to have Kid 2 this weekend but X2 is going out of town for work and asked to take him with her. It wasn’t an issue for me, but in my attempts to keep the leave, I feel like I cave too often.

The truth is, I’m already feeling kind of lonely. Phred went out of town for our nephew’s wedding: so I got stuck dog-sitting. That’s not really a big deal. It’s just that after running myself ragged for almost tow weeks, in tough coming to such an abrupt halt. I like the quiet, but it’s almost too quiet.
