The rudderless ship

As WordPress continues to recycle old prompts, I pulled another prompt from The Coffee Monsterz Co to respond to today

Is there something you are really close to achieving?

As sad as it is to say, I don’t feel that there’s anything in my life right now that I’m “really close” to achieving. In fact, I feel like I’m just going through the motions right now.

I’m not saying that to sound negative, but I feel like my life is on auto pilot right now: go to work, go see mother in the evenings, get kit to you every other weekend, spend time with Veronica and not necessarily in that order. Wash, rinse, repeat.

A bigger problem

Therein might lie a bigger problem. I feel like I don’t have any goals right now. That’s kind of a problem in that I don’t know what I’m really working towards at this point.

Searching for anything that I’m making progress on right now, I have read about another 200 pages of Anna Karenina in the last week. I decided to pick the book up and start getting a little bit more consistent with reading.

But I haven’t even been going to the gym lately. I really want to get back on that. I still cut down my soda intake. And I’m eating less, but right now I’m not really seeing the pounds come off. That’s why I have to get back into the gym. I’ve been looking online for a different workouts, specifically something to help me get rid of my gut. I think diet wise I’m getting into a better place now that I might be able to get serious about losing weight.

Maybe that will be the goal that I start working towards: getting serious about getting a better shape. I feel that since I don’t have so many other things taking up my time, maybe I can finally get serious about working out again.
