5, or 6, things

A vibrant flat-lay illustration on a light wooden surface, featuring the exact arrangement of the iced mocha, laptop showing the "Rebuilding Rob" blog, mouse, running shoes, and water bottle seen in image_7.png. The dark blue cap and baseball are visible, alongside a single baseball glove that accurately reflects Rob's left-handedness. This glove is structurally flipped (worn on the right hand), showing the thumb and webbing section on the right side of the glove structure.

What are 5 everyday things that bring you happiness?

I actually wrote in this topic 2 years ago and like that post, I’ll keep this relatively short:

  • This blog – I know the blog isn’t what most would consider an everyday thing, but I’ve been blogging for 951 consecutive days (including this post today) and quite frankly I’m amazed at the amount of internal growth I’ve undergone in that time
  • My kids – I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I don’t feel complete unless my boys are with me. I know that’s an attitude I’m going to have to change as kid 1 gets older and becomes his own man, but I’m just grateful to have both he and Kid 2 in my life.
  • Baseball – a timely one, considering that the season began about 2 weeks ago. Baseball all is by great escape from the challenges of my everyday life.
  • Coffee – this past fall, I finally broke down and tried iced mochas. They are great and I’m not understanding why none of my coffee-drinking friends ever told me how good this stuff was!
  • Sleep – i’ve always liked sleep. I just feel like I’ve never been very good at it. I’d like to do more of it. Of course, doing that might actually fall in with my honorable mention for this list…
  • A good workout (HM) – I have to admit that I haven’t been to the gym in a while. But I knew in my mind and in my heart that I always feel better in general after a good workout. So it makes the list as an honorable mention.
