Daily prompt: What’s the most money you’ve ever spent on a meal?

What’s the most money you’ve ever spent on a meal? Was it worth it?

The most expensive meal ivory cost me about $130 US. It was about a year ago. I was on a date with a person that I was in a relationship with at the time. Our total bill was probably around $200 (yes, I paid for her meal too)

For the life of me, I can’t even remember what I ate. I can tell you it was something that I don’t normally eat. I’m not really much of a foodie. In fact, I’m kind of a picky eater. but the food was good, I could tell it was of a higher quality than what I’m used to normally eating. And it was prepared well.

It’s hard for me to say if the meal was really “worth it“. To be honest, I was really paying more for the experience than I was for the meal itself. For us, this was a “fancy dinner at a fancy restaurant“ type of night. This was a very high-end meal for me. For what I spent that night, I could’ve gone to a grocery store and eaten very well for at least a week.

The food itself was not really worth it; but the overall experience was. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have anything to talk about now.

Sometimes it’s more for the experience than the food. Always a balance, though

Absolutely! This was definitely the latter of the two.
