Rob’s Good Neighbor Policy

What makes a good neighbor?

I think a good neighbor is a good friend. Of course, not too friendly. There’s social; willing to have some small talk with you. they know you, and the rest of your family. And they’re willing to look out for you. They’ll keep an eye on your house if you’re out of town.

However, you don’t want a neighbor to be too close, or too friendly. After all, there is a reason that they are your neighbors and not your roommates or your significant other.

Good neighbors look out for each other. When a situation arises and you need someone to watch your kids, or dog sit for you and an emergency, you know that your neighbors would be there to do it. Good neighbors are also the people that, in the winter time when it snows, will go ahead and plow or shovel your sidewalk for you if they happen to get started before you do.

These days, good neighbors are becoming harder to find. In the very least, people are becoming more socially distant from one another. I thought about this before, but I feel like we are replacing social media with the act of being social.

Find me a better neighbor than this man. Go ahead. I’ll wait…

A good neighbor would be the person who makes or picks you up some dinner when you’re sick, or even when your going through some family crisis. I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again: when my mom’s neighbors all pitched in to get a sandwich tray from Subway during The Old Man’s funeral, it was far more thoughtful than any floral arrangement anyone had ordered.

Simply stated, a good neighbor is somebody who has your back.

In your opinion, what makes a good neighbor?

At what point does a good neighbir become too nosy or intrusive?

What kind of neighbors are just straight-up annoying?

Agreed. Helpful but not in your business. I feel the same way.
