A Hazy shade of winter…and spring and fall

Do lazy days make you feel rested or unproductive?

Lazy days: this is a topic that I know well, given where I live in America. For most people, I think the weather, specifically the sun (or lack thereof) determines what is and what isn’t a lazy day. Where I’m living I feel like we have more lazy weather days than we have sunny days – specifically during the fall, winter and spring. This is pretty much the exact opposite of where I lived down South; where we might see two or three lazy days every three months.

The short answer to today’s question is that lazy days typically make me feel unproductive. As far as being well rested, my body pretty much dictates to me when it needs to rest. There will be some days where the weather is spectacular and I am exhausted. Conversely, there will be some days where the skies are gray and I am extremely productive. It all really depends on how I’m feeling at the moment I wake up. If I get moving quickly, I will keep moving all day.

Some people call themselves creatures of habit. I call myself a creature of momentum. Once I start to accomplish a few things on my mental “to do list” I don’t want to stop. It’s almost as if I’m trying to prove to myself just how productive I can be when I set my mind to it.

Here’s a shocker: my local forecast, as of this writing.

Tomorrow marks what would-have-been my 23rd wedding anniversary. Doubtless I’ll have some thoughts on that.
