What to do with good news?

Daily writing prompt
You get some great, amazingly fantastic news. What’s the first thing you do?

When I get some great news, the first thing i want to do is tell my loved ones about it! Actually, that’s probably the second thing I do. The first thing I do is allow myself to bask in it for a few minutes and allow myself a few minutes to calm down. But if there is a partner in my life, my kids, my immediate family members, I share the good news with them first.

The next thing I do, and this probably is never a good idea – is to share it on social media. Of course, this depends on what the good news is. For instance, if I won the lottery, I would NOT be broadcasting it. But if I am starting a new job or one of the boys has a great accomplishment, I definitely will post to social media about it; not to brag, but to share the good news with as many people as I can.

Can any of us really say we don’t share good news on social media?

I’d want to be anonymous if I won the lottery. I read some states you can do this. Other states you have to declare your name. I’d try to avoid the spotlight if I could!

I’ve heard that too. In some states, like you said, you legally have to come forward.

I’m assuming that every single person you’ve ever known in your life would start reaching out to you again trying to hit you up for money.
