Sometimes when we need a break, going on a vacation, taking time off from work or even ponding a few drinks are just not realistic. For those times that I need to unwind without getting too carried away, I consider these alternatives to relax:
Working out
Exercise is good for us humans on so many levels. To be honest the emotional and psychological benefits almost outweigh the physical for me. Whether I want to de-clutter my head or get my body tired, working out is a great way to unwind.
Baseball
No matter then time, place or scene the weather, watching a baseball game has a way it transporting me to another place or even another time. I know I’ve talked a lot about this before but baseball is simply my great escape. It makes me forget about whatever else – good or bad – is going in in my life at that moment.
Star Trek
Like baseball, Star Trek has a way of taking me to another place and time. I like most science fiction, Star Trek shows me a world where humanity gets its collective shit together. It reminds that there are bigger things for us all in the future; greater opportunities. Star Trek has a way of putting my problems into their proper perspective. It forces me to think; “a hundred years from now, how much is this really gonna matter”? The fact that somebody usually manages to save the ship, ha out or another intent within an hour is always encouraging.
If I’m li my, I get to partake in tow or even all 3 of these activities after a rough day.
How do you unwind after a demanding day?
