I broke up with Jessica 18 months ago yesterday. I’m only reflecting on this because she is the last serious girlfriend I’ve had.
The truth is, I think I secretly held out some kind of hope that she might’ve matured a little bit and we might give things another go. But I’ve tried to reach out to her a few times and gotten the cold shoulder. To be honest, I haven’t even tried to talk to her in several months. And as lame as this may sound, I was treating my birthday as kind of a last stand on the Jessica situation. I figured if I didn’t so much as get a happy birthday message from her via social media, I was done. So I am. I mean hell, both X1 AND X2 sent me text messages wishing me happy birthday!
In this last year and a half, I’ve been learning a lot about myself, and why I have historically been the dump-ee, rather than the dumper. I have come to discover that I’m not the only guy who’s like this. It seems like a lot of men will put up with shit, until the day comes when they no longer put up with it.
So for me, to broken up with Jessica, it was an extremely bold move. It reminded me a little bit of the Seinfeld clip that I have in my original post; hence, Rob gets hand.
