I’ve made too many sacrifices in my life. I would even know where to start as far as listing them all. More to the point, I’ve made too many sacrifices in my life that were in vain.
Historically, I’ve been a people pleaser. I’ve also been non-confrontational; all at the cost of my own peace of mind.
As a parent, I make sacrifices all the time; but that’s par for the course. When you’re a parent, you’re supposed to be willing to give to them, even at your own personal cost. I have no problems with that. I would lay in traffic for my boys if they needed me to do so.
What of the last few years, I think I started to take some of the mantras. I’ve heard about self-care, self-help and putting yourself first to hard. I’m not saying “it’s all about me” too often, put other peoples wants before my needs. I think I’ve gotten better at that recently.
