Like a knee – jerk reaction, I feel like the subject I’m an authority on are primarily the ones that I teach in school: English and history. That’s not to say that I’ve read every single book ever written. But when I do read particular novel, especially one I’m going to teach, I feel like I do a good job getting a very firm brass on it. Likewise, as dorky as this sounds, I’ve also thought of myself as something of a grammar fanatic. Again, it’s something that I take a good deal of pride in being good at.
I would love to sit here and say some sort expert on some different aspects of world history; as I’m also certified to teach history. However, I’ve never really had the chance to actually teach a history class, and I must admit that I’ve gotten rather rusty on the subject.
Outside of my work life, I’ve always been something of the nerd. Maybe a “pop culture aficionado“ would be a better way of phrasing it. I’m a big fan of the Star Trek franchise, I like to think that I am pretty knowledgeable about those shows. in addition, Batman was probably my earliest and all-time favorite comic book character. For about 15 years, I bought pretty much every Batman book that was released by DC comics. So again, I like to think that I’m something of an authority when it comes to the history of Batman.
Tell me about a subject on which you are an authority.
