You may know, if you’ve been reading my blog for any amount of time, one way I like to maintain my comfort zone or “practice mindfulness” in my daily life is through exercise.
I must admit that I cannot hit the gym every day with the same intensity that I used to. Rest days are becoming more common place for me. But if I’m not going to the gym, I do like to do yoga, or even go for a walk of roughly or 2 miles. The point being that I like to get some sort of exercising every day. It helps clear my mind and release and endorphins. To be honest, it has been very therapeutic for me. It helps clear my mind. If nothing else, it will sometimes give me too tired to not bother thinking about whatever is bothering me.
I’m still trying to wrap my head around yoga. It is somewhat meditative. You stretch and use muscles that most people don’t even know that they have when you practice yoga. Recently, I started alternating gym days with yoga days; and I can actually notice myself getting stronger when I do return to the gym after doing yoga. I know for a lot of people, it comes across as “Kumbaya-ish” but it works!
