One thing I’ve heard a lot about myself, particularly during my various sojourns in the world of online dating, is that I’m a good listener; hence the Guinan reference on my response to this post from last year…
But I think one thing I’ve gotten really good at professionally is creating a comfortable classroom setting for my students. This is my second year at my correct school, and just my second year back in high school after teaching for nearly decade in the middle school level. It even last year, I had students confiding in me, and coming to my classroom to get extra work done. More than that, I feel like the students still respect me enough that when I get serious, they know that I mean business. This is a balance that it took me most of my career to attain.
