Rob’s 2025 Men’s March Madness Bracket – Day 2 Updates

I left my other bracket at work, so I had to re-print it, hence the orange highlighting now. And yes, I stuck to the honor system and kept the same teams I originally picked.

26–6 after two days

12-4 for Day 2. Not too bad, all things considered. That makes me 26-6 for the round of 64. Hindsight is always 20/20. Looking back at my losses, I’m already seeing where i went wrong.

Again, I watched zero college basketball this year. So I’m not going to go through every game pick them apart, analyze them, dissect them. That’s just way out of my wheelhouse. So here’s the quick and the dirty version of the low points and high points of my bracket picks on yesterday‘s action:

  • New Mexico beats Marquette – again one of those 7-10 pairings that could go either way. I erred on the side of caution and it backfired.
  • Really? I picked Oklahoma to beat UConn? I know that’s a close pairing, but UConn…
  • #12 Colorado State beats #5 Memphis in the upset of the day for Friday. I should’ve gone with the underdog…
  • Stupid. In my Underdog Mode, i actually took Liberty over Oregon. I had a feeling. I guess I should have pretended i was numb instead…
  • In the Midwest region, Utah State over UCLA remains my one mistake.
  • In the south region, Marquette over New Mexico is my only mistake.
  • In the east, Mississippi State over Baylor is my only mistake.
  • The West region is the one that I really botched, missing three of the eight winners.

There’s even more basketball on tap for today, and tomorrow as well. When this four-day weekend is all set and done, this field of 64 teams will be down to 16. Pretty amazing stuff.

I’m just glad I don’t actually gamble on these games…
