Brand loyalty in the information age

As WordPress continues to recycle old prompts, I pulled another prompt from The Coffee Monsterz Co to respond to today

Is there a business that have earned your loyalty?

Lately it’s becoming tougher than ever for me to “declare loyalty“ to one business or another one. There are businesses I consistently shop at, don’t get me wrong. But I feel like the more research I do on a particular company, I eventually uncover some labor practice, or some political cause that they support and I cannot abide by.

I’ve been with Verizon so long, I remember when this was their poster boy

Over the last several years, however, perhaps the one business who I have been the most loyal has been Verizon wireless. I’m sure that if I did the research, again, I would find some business practices of theirs that I did not like. That might be the problem. At this point, I’m almost afraid to dig too deeply; to find out what certain companies political views are.

I first got a cell phone with Verizon when I moved to South Carolina. At the time, they were the only company who had consistent coverage in the area that I was living in. Yes, they are the most expensive service provider; but the truth is, you do pay for the quality that you get from them.
