As WordPress continues to recycle old prompts, I pulled another prompt from The Coffee Monsterz Co to respond to today
What is a luxury you like to splurge on?
I’m not really a luxury guy, in fact, the one thing that I would say I end up splurging on for myself lately is tickets to Major league baseball games. I know that I have taught, had nausea, and this blog about how much I enjoy MLB, but I’ve realized that it’s not even memorial day yet and I’ve already been to six regular season baseball games this year. (six games and one stadium tour for a total of three ball parks visited this season). Just to put this in a perspective, I attended just a six games in 2024, and only five games in 2023.
I’m coming to the realization that, this winter, I’m going have to put some money aside as I’m probably going to purchase a partial season ticket package for 2026.
Not only has baseball been the one luxury I’ve splurged upon, but my trips to other MLB cities have been my only travel endeavor beyond seeing Kid 1.
I have plans to attend games in three “new to me” MLB parts this year. I’m not sure if that’s still going to come to pass as I’m also preparing to get kid wanted to college this fall.
Last night, on the way home from the game, I had the “where do we stand“ conversation with Veronica. She seemed pretty content with things as they have been – which is to say we’ve kept it on the casual. But at the same time, she’s not talking, little and seeing anybody else. Earlier Saturday morning, we were messaging back-and-forth and we’re talking about “the conversation“ I don’t know she was trying to keep it lighthearted, but she seemed like she was laughing about it. It was one of those situations where you can tell someone’s joking around; she was also getting to the point of joking around too much where I was going to start taking offense to it.
