Those who make me happy

As WordPress continues to recycle old prompts, I pulled another prompt from The Coffee Monsterz Co to respond to today

Who makes you instantly happy?

My kids make me instantly happy: Kid 1 and Kid 2. More to the point, I’m instantly happy when the three of us are together. I know those times are going to be fewer and further between, especially since kid one is 18. Granted, when he goes to school in the fall, he’ll be closer to me than ever, but he’s not under any court obligations or anything to see me. But the fact is, as I’ve said before and I will probably say again, I don’t feel fully alive unless both my boys are with me.

I wonder, as a parent, does one ever get past that feeling? Even once their kids are grown?

Feeling like Archie Andrews

Right now, I have to say that seeing Veronica also makes me happy. We ended up getting together today after I finished my workday early.

It’s happening. I think we’re falling for each other. I know we were both trying to keep things casual (even before we admitted it to each other) but it’s happening. I’m not talking about “the L word“ yet. I just mean that we’ve been trying to keep things casual and I think we’re starting to like each other more and wanting to see each other more frequently.

Yesterday, I wrote about how I was feeling “off”. I think that the combination of finishing work today and seeing Veronica put me in a better mood. Of course, the fact that it was 11° warmer yesterday than it was on Tuesday doesn’t hurt either.
