Who is the first person you tell when you have life-changing good news?
being 51, single – and although dating exclusively, not having a significant other in my life – this is kind of an odd question for me. But for historical purposes, I wrote about this very topic last February HERE. But if I had a significant other, my immediate response would be to share that kind of good news with them
My first reaction is always to share good life-altering news with my loved ones, or even the people who are close to me at that particular moment in my life. If it’s something my kids will appreciate, I will tell them. If it’s something exciting and am I am dating someone at the moment, I will share it with them. Otherwise, I turned to either my sister or even my mom, although Mother’s not quite as cognizant as she once was given her current health struggles.
Beyond my immediate circle, I’m probably most likely to share the news with you, my readers on this blog. It’s not that I have such a deep connection with all of you. It’s more that I write about my life experiences here so that I can process my thoughts on them in written words.
The last time I wrote on this topic, I talked about the fact that like so many people, I probably share too much life altering news on social media. I think I’ve gotten away from that. There’s things that have happened in my life in the last year or so I don’t feel the need to disclose to the public at large, with my name a face attached.
