What I’ll carry forward

As WordPress continues to recycle old prompts, I pulled another prompt from The Coffee Monsterz Co to respond to today.

What do you want to bring into July, and what do you want to leave behind in June?

Today is the last day of June. While I don’t know that it is officially the halfway point in terms of days, it is definitely the end of the sixth month of the 12 month year. I suppose it makes as good as time as any to reflect.

As I have been saying a lot lately – the last two days in particular – I’m relatively content with my life right now. Things are not perfect. Life really is a work in progress. but the truth is, things could be much, much worse.

It has occurred to me lately that I’ve lived almost my entire life fixated on the academic calendar. Obviously, as a kid going to school, that was a big part of my life with summer being the combination of a long school year. But with having gone to college, and having gone into teaching myself, the academic calendar has really given me a sense of continuity in my life.

To answer today’s prompt, I don’t know that I really have anything that I want to leave behind in June. I like the way that I’ve been able to keep my anxiety and check. Right now I just want to keep moving forward. I guess one could say that I want to carry the positive attitude that I’ve had with me from June into July.

So far, I have no complaints about this summer. Could one graduate from high school. I’ve been to more baseball games this season and I have probably 10 years. Well, I wish I was doing a little bit more traveling already, I still have plenty of time for that.
