It’s been a while since I’ve made a “throwback Thursday post. This one is from 13 years (and a few days) ago.
It all seems pretty trivial now. I know that it wasn’t trivial either now or certainly not then, but it’s funny to look back in things through a bittersweet sense of nostalgia
At this time 13 years ago, I was still going through the process of my divorce. In 2012, I still thought I would be eventually move back to South Carolina. So much has happened since then. Also, I think my writing has become much more introspective since then, and much less dramatic. It’s ironic that I called this original entry “course correction” as I feel like that’s stuck at this point was getting back to school so that I could work and provide for kid 1. Well, that, and wanting to exercise
It’s odd because often times I’ll wonder where I will be ten years from now and have no idea how to venture such a guess. But I look back on this post from 13 years ago and I see how far things have come in my life. The issues problem and conflicts that had presented themselves then have, for the most part been resolved. Likewise. I can assume the challenges I’m each g to day will be worked out 13 years from now.
All I know is 13 years from now, Kid 1 will be 31, and Kid 2 will be 23! Because, you know, I don’t feel old already.
