As WordPress continues to recycle old prompts, I pulled another prompt from The Coffee Monsterz Co to respond to today
What cuisines do you like to cook at home, get for takeout, and eat at a restaurant?
Growing up as the “picky eater” in a family of bland eaters, say that my pallet was pretty limited would be a gross understatement. Which is why I was always interesting to me that when I joined Boy Scouts, I wanted to earn my cooking badge. Once I did, I was something of the go to cook on a lot of our weekend, camping outings. Not that I ever made great food, it was mostly foil, dinners, and things of that sort, but it was kind of a neat responsibility to have. And there was something truly satisfying about watching people eat what you cook cooked and be legitimately grateful for it and say “thanks Rob. It’s delicious“.
Unfortunately, these days I don’t really do much cooking. With me typically going to see mother at her assisted living facility around dinner time normally, I end up, grabbing something to eat usually as a takeout well after the traditional “dinner time“
But when I do cook, I do like to make the “depression or sloppy Joe“ that I talked about in a post here. I like to fix myself tacos. Every now and then I will grill up a steak or another cut of meat on the barbecue. But that’s really loud as far as my cooking goes.
Interestingly, enough, I did start making ziti when next two and I were together. I didn’t care for myself, as I don’t really like much pasta, but she seemed to enjoy it well enough, which always made me feel good.
