What motivates you?
My children motivate me. Everything I do in my professional life is about them. And then, when it comes to my personal life, they are my first priority.
Like so many other people, I have had my bouts with anxiety and depression. And when I’m at my lowest of my lows , when it seems like there’s nothing else that can help me to hang on, I think about my kids. I just don’t have the heart to leave them a mine in the world. That always keeps hanging on when everything else looks bad.
So much of our parents is so hardwired into our DNA, that we often times don’t even realize it. I’m 49 years old. My father passed away eight years ago and I’m still finding ways that I act and interact with others just like did. Sometimes it’s real subtle stuff, like certain inflections in his voice that i hear myself using with even realizing it.
I hope that I have that same impact in my children.
