Today is December 30. New Yearβs Eve Eve, if you will. Number 364 of a 365-issue limited series. anyway, you choose to slice it, today is the penultimate day of 2023.
And for the first time in a really long time, Iβm feeling good, going into the new year.
Iβm not having that βwe made it through another yearβ feeling. But I am legitimately excited. I feel like Iβve made some really good changes in my life these last few months and I canβt wait to carry them into the new year.
Iβm trying to keep it all in check though. I donβt wanna be like that person who was winding down 2019, saying βWow, 2020 is really gonna be my yearβ
And thatβs the rub. We really donβt know what the future holds. We can have the best of intentions with something and fail drastically. Or, as happened to many of us nearly 4 years ago, disaster could just strike. Either way, itβs out of our hands.

All we can do is hope for the best while we simultaneously brace ourselves for the worst. But Iβm looking forward to all of it. . Iβm looking forward to seeing what are going to be the new trends in popular culture; what movies TV shows and songs are going to win the major awards for awards for the year. As a sports fan, of course Iβm looking forward to seeing who wins all the championships in the next year as well.
Iβm looking forward to all the major world events we will see in the next year. Hopefully itβs all good. I sincerely hope for a quick, peaceful and long-lasting ends to the conflicts in both Ukraine, and in the Middle East. The unfortunate reality is that there are always winners and losers in warfare.
Iβm curious to see the quirky stuff that comes up in the next 12 months: the stories that we really find heart-warming, and the stories that seem so bizarre, thereβs no way someone could possibly make them up. And of course, I canβt wait to hear about the continuing exploits of Florida Man.
Just remember 2023 ainβt over yet!
