Welcome to another edition of Flashback Friday. This, That and the Other, a blog that I follow, suggested this idea recently. Last week marked the second anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine. Today’s flashback is a post I originally wrote in the days following the start of the war. I think it’s important to share this again as it seems that the international support of the war effort, particularly that of the United States, is waning.
I continue to be astounded by the tenacity and determination of Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Remember, this is a man who originally started out as an actor; and in a case of life imitating art, Zelenskyy starred in Servant of the People a Ukrainian sitcom about an actor who is elected President of Ukraine. Two years ago, he could have easily gotten his family out of Ukraine and served abroad as a President-in-exile. Instead, he traded in his suits for olive green sweaters & hoodies and chose to stay in Ukraine. You can see the toll the war has taken on him physically. I truly admire this man. Below is a link to my previous article “I hate Bullies” and I’ve also embedded a recent interview with him by NBC News
