To the Batmobiles!

A while back, I wrote a post about my favorite car called To the Batmobile! since Autorama is in town, it decided to get a ticket and see it in person… Or, should I say THEM…

I made it! Instead of just sitting here talking about wishing I could do things, I did it. And I didn’t wait for any friends to come along with me, I didn’t opt out of going, since it’s a kid free weekend. I did it ALONE.

OK. That is just plain cool AF. 😎
And I’m glad you didn’t hang around waiting for someone and went and had some freaking fun. Good on you, man!

Yeah, that was kind of a big deal for me. I don’t want to sound whiny and say “I don’t have a lot of friends“ but as a man at my age, “hanging out with the guys” happens less and less. I was the first in my circle of friends to get married, and I was also the first to divorce.

Plus, that’s kind of a great thing about being single right now: if I want to do something, I just do it

I hear you, man. I don’t have a ton of friends to hang out with these days either, and I’m cool with that. I have a small circle, and when we get together it’s a good time, but it’s not the be all, end all for me anymore. There is a freedom to not having a huge social circle indeed lol

I went to ComicCon in SF the year before the 89 Batman was released in the theaters. One of the panels was on the movie. About 10 to 15 minutes of that was just on the making of the Batmobile. Cool fact; the cockpit (driver’s side I assume) is literally taken from a Harrier jump jet fighter.

I have to admit, I geeked out a little bit! I was a little bit disappointed in the Ben Affleck Batmobile. They said it’s physically, the largest of all the Batmobiles, but it had a dull finish to an and parts of it almost looked like they were made out of plastic.

I would have been surprised by finding it had a dull finish.

Well, I think it really stood out, especially since all of the other cars were so shiny.
