You’re writing your autobiography. What’s your opening sentence?

I’ve never even entertained the idea of writing an autobiography. But considering that I blog, who knows? Right now, today, the opening line to my autobiography would go something like this:

“He sounds like a perfectly ordinary non-gun-owning white guy,” was the assessment that the pizza guy made to his manager when he heard Rob’s voice over the phone.

    Non-gun owning? How dare you call yourself an American. Wait, are you American? I mean, I don’t have a gun either. I have pepper spray though, and I know how to use a sling shot. Giants beware. (I had too much coffee.)

        I used to buy into more of the conservative hype myself, but after being ripped off by too many businesses and having conservatives defend it, I just couldn’t stomach the BS anymore. And while we felt forced into buying guns because our former neighborhood was so bad, as I stated in my own blog post a little while back, I’m more afraid of most gun owners anymore than the criminals.

        So, keep on being you. 🙂

    Good one. Nobody wants to deliver a pizza to a white guy with a gun.

      I was living in a rough area during my first year at college, literally “on the other side of the railroad tracks”.

      Most of the pizza places either wouldn’t deliver there after 5; wouldn’t deliver there after dark, or wouldn’t deliver there at all.

      It was 5 o clock in spring time, so the sun was still up. I called, hoping they would deliver. The guy in the phone had to asked his manager if they would. The manager asked “what does he sounds like?”

      I gave the kid a good tip for his trouble.

        Great story. I wonder what they would’ve done if you didn’t “sound white”?
