I did a little time traveling this morning, as most Americans did, setting our clocks ahead one hour for daylight saving time.
Back in November, I wrote a post blasting daylight saving time called âif I could not turn back timeâ. Think of this post is a companion piece to that one.
I love spring forward, for all of the reasons that I despise fall back.
I love the extra hour of sunlight. I just like seeing the sun in general, so Iâll take every bit of it that I can get! Yes, I know it means losing one hour sleep last night And yes, I know that I canât have spring forward without a Fall Back. The problem is that both days seem to throw me off a little bit.

If I had to choose, I would get rid of the whole process altogether. Personally, Iâm still waiting on the US House of Representatives to vote on the Sunshine Protection Act. (my God, isnât that a melodramatic name? ) It passed through the Senate unanimously; yet The House wonât even touch it.
In the meantime, Iâll make do. This will mean going to work in the dark again, albeit temporarily . The trade off of one extra hour of daylight in the evenings is worth it. whatâs more, The Sun will continue to rise one minute earlier and set one minute later every day until June 21. March Madness and the 2024 MLB regular season are just a few weeks away. To quote The Simpsons, everything is coming up Milhouse!
