With age generally comes experience. With experience, one generally attains wisdom. So I guess to make a very simple answer to this prompt, wisdom gets better with age.
this is something I’m a particularly in the relationship department, I’m coming to grips with. Ever since X2, it’s been really difficult for me to get close to anybody. For a while lately, I’ve been saying to people “I want to be in a relationship” but I think the truth is at point my life where I simply “want to want to be in a relationship again”. Basically, my heart wants it; but my mind does not. At least, it hasn’t. Up until recently. .
My own personal experiences of jaded me. They’re keeping me from getting too close to anybody. Look No further than my recent experience with XST. I thought her and I hit it off. I thought there was a general vibe between us. And it really hasn’t gone anywhere. And I should’ve been more guarded to this. Things fell off with her and I two years ago shortly before I met Jessica. Looking back at the time, I thought maybe it was because I started seeing Jessica exclusively that I just stopped talking to XT. But the truth is, she may have in fact been the one who ghosted me.
So maybe as much as I’ve accumulated wisdom with age, I’ve also developed a greater self-awareness. I know who I am. I know what I want. I know what I will put up with; and more than that, I know what I will not settle for.
