I got back to the gym Monday night. Shirts have been feeling a little tighter. I’ve been seeing pictures of myself with my gut at various stages. I’m grossed out by the more recent photos of me with a bigger gut. Im tired of it and I’m going to finally do something and hopefully, be committed to it.
I’ve noticed lately when I have worked out, I really wear myself out. Maybe I need to dial it back a bit. I know when I am exhausted the night of a workout, it makes me not want to go back to the gym for a couple days (I didn’t go Tuesday)
The truth is, I’m 50 going in 51. Buff, jacked and shredded are 3 adjectives that will never be used to describe me – no matter how hard I work out at this stage in my life. I’m pretty sure that, even if I worked out, it’s a teenager, I never would’ve developed that type of body. the truth is, I’m OK with that. I just want to be in better shape and not have a big gut.
It was a reasonably warm on Monday; so that only made it even warmer still in the gym. I know on some machines I worked a little bit harder than I normally do, but I felt like I worked up quite a sweat that day. With summer coming, it will become a little bit more uncomfortable in the gym. They have heat and air conditioning, but even AC only does so much.
