As WordPress continues to recycle old prompts, I pulled another prompt from The Coffee Monsterz Co to respond to today
What can you do this year to make 2026-you proud?
It is so cliched to say this, but one thing I can do to make 2026 Rob proud is to start making some headway in some of my debt. I’ve written before about how it’s important for me to not leave any substantial debt behind for my children after I pass. This is something I continue to think about more every day.
Back to school
I must admit that seeing Kid 1 get ready for college has making me want to finally return to school to get my masters degree.
I’ve been talking about this one for a while and I realize that it’s one of the things where I have to “stop talking about doing it and just do it“. Of course getting caught up on some of my debt help this endeavor substantially. m
Rebuilding the Body
Another thing I can do that would make 2026 Rob proud would be to start taking better care of my body. Exercising more, maybe even eating healthy better.
More ballpark chasing
Lately one of the things I have done lately that is even making present day Rob proud is doing things just because I want to. Indulging myself; or, as they would say on the show Parks and Rec, “treat yo’self!” I have another out-of-town MLB game planned for 2 weeks from now to coincide with kiddo’s tour of the university of Wisconsin. On my way home, I plan to attend the baseball game in Milwaukee’s American life field. And in keeping with the spirit, I’m thinking about making a stop at Chicago’s Wrigley Field while I’m at it.
I know that visiting ballparks is hardly as indulgent as a cruise or a trip to a tropical island. But for me, my ballpark trips have been something I’ve done for me, for my own fulfillment.
